What is Confident by Nature?

Discover Your True Nature.

At Confident by Nature, we believe that true confidence and fulfillment come from reconnecting with your authentic self—not from doing more, but from coming home to yourself. In a world that constantly pushes us to achieve, produce, and keep up, it’s easy to lose touch with what truly makes us feel alive. But nature reminds us that we are already whole, already wise, and already enough. When we slow down and listen, we rediscover the energy, clarity, and purpose that make us feel fully alive.

But life has a way of pulling us away from that truth. Maybe you’ve spent years building a career, caring for your family, or bending to the expectations of others (or all three of these!)—only to find yourself wondering, What now? Perhaps the success you once worked so hard for no longer feels fulfilling. Maybe your children have grown, your parents have passed, or the roles that once defined you have shifted, leaving you searching for meaning and direction.

Through nature immersions, retreats, and workshops, Confident by Nature helps you slow down, tune into nature’s wisdom, and reconnect with your own. When you step away from the noise and the ‘shoulds,’ you rediscover your inner strength, reclaim your purpose, and awaken a way of living that feels deeply aligned—one where you feel fully alive again.

If you’re ready to stop going through the motions and start truly living, we’re here to walk alongside you.

My Story: A Journey Back to Aliveness

For years, I did everything I thought I was supposed to do. I built a successful career in leadership development and coaching, juggled the roles of mother, wife, daughter, business owner, and friend, and pushed through every challenge with sheer determination. I thought my ability to “power through” was what made me strong. But beneath it all, I felt exhausted, disconnected, and like I was merely going through the motions of life. Life was passing by too quickly, and I felt like I was simply an observer of my life, watching it speed past.

But I had a charmed life and felt guilty when I didn’t feel fully satisfied. I had so much—how could I want for something more?

My health began to suffer, and the weight of expectations—both societal and self-imposed—felt unbearable. I had spent years striving to fit into a mold that wasn’t truly mine, believing that to be successful, I had to act a certain way, suppress my natural introverted tendencies, and constantly prove my worth by accomplishing more. But instead of leading to fulfillment, it led to depletion.

The turning point came when burnout and grief caught up with me. I suddenly found myself with a very concerning health condition—it came out of nowhere, with no real cause. It was a wake-up call, my body and soul telling me that I needed to make some changes. In my search for healing, I turned to the one place that had always brought me peace—nature. I started spending more intentional time outdoors, not just for escape but for restoration. What began as quiet walks in the woods evolved into something much deeper. I discovered Forest Therapy, a practice that transformed my relationship with the natural world and, ultimately, with myself. Nature wasn’t just a place to visit—it became my teacher, my mirror, and my greatest source of renewal.

As I allowed myself to slow down and truly listen—to the rustling leaves, the rhythm of my breath, the wisdom that nature so freely offers—I felt something shift. I was no longer just surviving. I was coming back to life. I realized I didn’t need to constantly do; I allowed myself to simply be.

Looking back, I see how nature had always been a guiding force in my life. Whether it was kayaking, hiking, backpacking through Glacier, or even a life-changing scuba diving experience that gave me my first deep sense of belonging, the moments I felt most alive were always outside. The difference now was that I finally gave myself permission to be that woman—fully, unapologetically, and without the need to fit into anyone else’s version of success.

That realization led me to become a Certified Forest Therapy Guide and to create Confident by Nature. My passion is to help women like me—women who have spent years striving, overworking, and feeling like they’re not enough—reconnect with themselves through the wisdom of the natural world.

Through immersive retreats, mindful nature practices, and the Wise Woman Community, I guide women to shed the stress, release the ‘shoulds,’ and rediscover their true nature. I believe that when we step outside of the constant noise of everyday life and into nature, we begin to hear what truly matters. We remember who we are. We reclaim our aliveness.

If you’re feeling drained, lost, or simply longing for something more, I invite you to step into this journey with me. Nature is waiting to guide you home—to yourself.

What is Forest Therapy?

A Path to Healing and Wholeness.

Forest Therapy, sometimes referred to as Forest Bathing, is a research-backed health and wellness practice of guided, mindful time with nature. It’s not a hike or a lesson about plants — it’s an intentional, sensory immersive experience providing time for slowing down to allow the mind and body time to form a deep connection with the natural world and experience restoration and respite from living in our fast-paced environment.

When you engage your senses, relax your mind, and let nature reflect your inner truth, you’ll uncover insights and find clarity. Forest Therapy is for anyone seeking peace, connection, and a renewed sense of self.

“Karen has a gift for leading forest bathing nature immersions. The moment she started talking me into connecting with nature I felt a change in how I felt. I went from feeling stressed to a sense of peace. As the experience progressed into each new stage I began to have insight on my own impact on the earth and the impact of nature on me. It felt like an experience of healing, connection and destressing all rolled into one.

I highly recommend anyone who is looking to have a deeper connection with nature or wanting to destress their life and feel more peace and joy to go on a nature experience with Karen.”
